It’s been a helluva year for Boeing… for all the wrong reasons. Now, you can add one more reason to the pile.
A SouthWest Airlines flight out of Denver saw the cowling tear off of the engine at take-off. The harrowing moment was caught on film.
ABC’s Sam Sweeney posted this footage on X:

While it the manufacturer is obviously finding itself under the microscope (yet again) after a series of very public mechanical failures, there is another possiblity to consider before jumping to that conclusion.
The manufacturer is not the only party responsible for the condition of the aircraft. What role do our aircraft mechanics play in this problem?
If only Biden had chosen political appointees for their skill stack instead of political back-scratching and identitarian box-ticking… maybe we could have a responsible adult take a look at the problem.
But for the time being, it’s pretty much a case of praying before you step on the plane and hope it will get where you are going.
