Whether Vivek realizes it or not, the strategy he used here was the one used by no less a figure than Jesus of Nazareth himself.
Remember those scenes in the gospels where the Pharisees try to box Jesus in with no-win questions and he refuses to engage in those interactions by the rigged rules of the game they were playing?
The most famous example is probably the one about paying taxes to Caesar. (Show me a coin. Whose face is on it?) But in another instance, the Pharisees are trying to trap Jesus by asking Him by what authority — and WHOSE authority — Jesus is doing all of the things we see written in the gospels. Recognizing the trap, he flips the question around on the people who asked it, asking whether John the Baptist was sent by God or not.
They didn’t think so, but they knew the people did. Not wanting to show their real opinion before the public, they pled ignorance. Jesus told them he would not answer their question.
In the same way, the press was asking gotcha questions about some of the spicy topics he had raised in his closing arguments during his last debate. Watch as Vivek executes almost the same ‘Uno Reverse’ play on the media that Jesus used on the preachers of his own day.
Vivek Ramaswamy casually sips water as he totally dismantles lie after lie that’s been told by the mainstream media. Makes sense why they’re starting to censor him. pic.twitter.com/h0L1nJmxrF
